pick the flash strength that fits your scene, from soft portrait glow to max for groups and darker rooms.
flash is a big part of the compact flash-camera aesthetic—bright subject, moody background, photos that still feel candid. flag7x is designed to capture stunning flash photos with that character, using straightforward on-screen choices instead of a separate editing workflow.
photo mode: off, auto, soft, and max
- off — stay in available light and lean on color tones for the mood.
- soft — a gentle, flattering glow made for portraits and close-ups. it lights your subject without overpowering them, and it is the kindest option for skin.
- max — the brightest option, made for groups, rooms, and darker scenes where the light needs to carry further.
- auto — on iphones with a depth sensor, auto reads how far away your subject is and chooses for you: soft when they are close, max when they are further away. if you do not see auto when you cycle the flash button, your iphone does not have the sensor—just pick soft or max yourself based on the distance.
prefer picking from a menu instead of cycling through the modes one by one? you can change how the flash button behaves in settings.
selfies and the screen flash
the front camera uses your screen as its flash, so your options there are off or soft. a screen cannot get as bright as the led on the back of the phone, which means the flash look is less pronounced on selfies. when you want the strongest version of the look, turn the phone around and shoot with the back camera instead.
bursts
while you are holding the shutter down for a burst, your flash options narrow to off or soft. soft is the only flash that can stay lit continuously across an entire burst—max fires as a single bright strobe, which is not something that can repeat across dozens of rapid shots.
fine-tuning in settings
the flash section in settings offers deeper adjustments if the standard modes are not hitting quite the way you want. everything there is optional—most people never need to change a thing.
video
video has its own simple flash toggle. on the back camera it keeps the led lit for the whole recording; on the front camera it brightens your screen all the way up to light your face. useful any time you are recording somewhere dim.
if something looks unexpected
photo quality settings can change how the camera behaves with flash. if you switch quality and something looks different, read any message the app shows and give it a moment to settle before taking the shot you care about.
